Shashi Patel is a partner in the Houston office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Healthcare Practice. Shashi has earned the trust of clients because of her thoroughness, attention to detail, and commitment to early risk analysis that leads to negotiation of cost-effective dispute resolution.

Over the years Shashi has represented a broad spectrum of clients involving complex issues including physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, trucking companies, premise owners, business owners, oilfield product manufacturers, oilfield service companies, various other product manufacturers, and individuals in litigation involving various matters. Her certifications in Healthcare Compliance, Healthcare Privacy Compliance, US Regulatory Affairs, as well as her broad-based knowledge in compliance processes enable her to provide direction on a variety of aspects necessary for developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining an effective compliance program tailored to the organization, including risk assessment, work plan development and implementation, corporate governance, developing and implementing education and training programs addressing compliance, and implications of relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA Privacy and Security Laws; Stark laws; Anti-Kickback Statutes; False Claims Act; CMS regulations; OIG, HHS, and OCR guidance; Federal Grant Compliance; EMTALA; Anti-Trust; and Foreign Corrupt Practices Acts.
